CenPhoCamp is an unconference designed to bring small, local organizations together with the customers they serve. Unlike a typical seminar, participants are encouraged to ask questions, to leave sessions they don’t think are helpful and even contribute to the learning as they see fit.
Developed as a series of tracks, each hour-long presentation adheres to one of the following themes: Beginner, where those new to marketing can learn about basic approaches, Technology, offering instructions on the latest web apps and Community, designed to help businesses enable their customers to be their best advertisers. A Roundtable discussion led by industry experts completes each hour’s offerings.
CenPhoCamp, held free of charge, is being run by volunteers only. Rent for the Cronkite facility is being paid by generous session and room sponsors (session sponsorships still available for $20).
Speakers include Designer Nina Miller of ASU, Innovators Derek Neighbors and Chris Conrey of Gangplank, Channel 12 News Anchor Brahm Resnik, Freelance journalist Nick Martin, Light Rail bloggers Nick Bastian and Tony Arranagaand Small Business Manager Brandon Stout.
All of these professionals will share solutions that have worked for them, instead of theories they’d like to see happen.
Admission is completely free, although we ask that participants bring food or drink. Please sign up here: http://www.cenphocamp.com/registration-is-now-open/

Oh, it’s time. Time for you to let us know you’re coming. Time for you to let us know what you’re bringing.
In an effort to keep this event free, we’re asking that each attendee bring food (last name A-G) or drink (H-Z). Think snack-type stuff (enough to feed 5–6 people), as we’re going to be there all afternoon. Any leftovers will be donated to Gangplank or Fractal, or you can take it home. Please be conscious that this is a school, and we MUST clean up everything we bring in. Thanks in advance for your help with this.
So…sign up below. Let us know who you are. Tell your friends. The fun begins at 1:30pm.
Agenda will be available by January 11.

You’ve heard of social media. You’ve probably heard of PodCampAZ. You probably don’t need much more help.
But PLENTY of small, local businesses do need help. They need assistance connecting their customers, they need a kick start on internet marketing and they need to be reminded that the internet isn’t a place, it’s a channel they can use to solve customer problems.
This is where CenPhoCamp comes in. Designed to be a 101-type overview of selling, communication and marketing techniques, it will be a mix of panels and presenters all looking to show businesses without tons of resources how to better market themselves using low– or no-cost techniques.
It’s a chance for those in the know to bring those that don’t into the fold. It’s an opportunity for those who already know what they’re doing to learn from others. It’s here so the many passionate, local groups don’t overlap events, make the same mistakes or waste time on methods that don’t work.
CenPhoCamp will be held January 23 from 2 to 8pm at the Cronkite building on the downtown Phoenix campus. We’re looking for speakers, volunteers, speakers, panelists and sponsors to help out. Sponsorships will be available per room or per speaker, or can help subsidize the cost of the after party.
